Privacy Policy for PayWindow

This policy covers both the PayWindow iOS app and the PayWindow website (including its email newsletter signup). The two are handled very differently — read on for specifics.

In the App

The short version

PayWindow does not collect, transmit, store, or sell any of your personal or financial data. Everything you enter into the app — income, expenses, savings goals, and paycheck schedules — stays on your device. We never ask for your bank login, and we never see your data, because it never leaves your phone.

The one exception is optional, anonymous feedback: if you answer a short survey while on a free trial (for example, why you chose to cancel, or how the trial is going), your answer is sent to us. See “Optional feedback surveys” below. It never includes any of your financial data.

What data PayWindow stores

PayWindow stores the following information locally on your device only, using Apple’s on-device SwiftData storage:

• Income sources and amounts you enter
• Expenses and bills you enter, including due dates and recurrence
• Savings goals and contribution settings you configure
• Paycheck schedule and window preferences

This data is never transmitted to us, to any third party, or to any server. PayWindow has no cloud sync and no user accounts — your data exists only on the device(s) where you’ve installed the app. (The only information the app sends us is the optional survey feedback described below.)

What PayWindow does not do

• We do not connect to your bank. PayWindow never asks for, stores, or has access to any bank account credentials, card numbers, or financial account access of any kind.
• We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs. PayWindow does not track your usage, behavior, or activity within the app for analytics purposes.
• We do not sell or share data. The only data we receive is the optional, anonymous survey feedback described below, and we do not sell it or share it with third parties.
• We do not require an account or login to use the app. There is no in-app sign-up, no email collection within the app, and no user account system. (If you sign up for our email newsletter on our website, see “On This Website” below — that’s a separate, optional thing, unrelated to the app itself.)

Optional feedback surveys

If you start a free trial of PayWindow Premium, the app may ask you a short question: how the trial is going, or why you’re canceling. Answering is entirely optional, and you can skip or dismiss any of them.

• What’s sent: only your answer, any comment you choose to type, which survey it was (check-in or cancellation), how many days into the trial you were, which subscription plan the trial was for, and the app version.
• What’s not sent: your name, email address, device identifier, Apple ID, or any income, expense, or savings information. Responses are anonymous — we can’t tell which user wrote one.
• Where it goes: to a database we host with Supabase, a cloud database provider. Like any online service, it may process technical connection details (such as an IP address) to deliver the request; we don’t use that to identify you.
• How we use it: only to understand how to improve PayWindow. It isn’t sold, shared for advertising, or used to track you.
• If you’re offline: a response may be saved briefly on your device and sent the next time the app can connect.

Because responses are anonymous, we can’t look up or delete one on request. Please don’t include personal information in comments.

Notifications

PayWindow uses Apple’s local notification system (UNUserNotificationCenter) to remind you of upcoming bills, and, during a free trial, to optionally ask how it’s going. These notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device and do not involve any external push notification service or server.

On This Website

Our website (where you can learn about and download the app) offers an optional email newsletter so you can hear about new features and updates.

• If you choose to sign up, we collect only your email address, via Mailchimp, our email service provider.
• Your email is used solely to send you occasional product updates — never sold, shared, or used for anything else.
• You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.
• Signing up is entirely optional and has no effect on your ability to use the PayWindow app.

Children’s privacy

PayWindow is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children within the app (including survey feedback), and the website’s newsletter signup is not directed at or intended for children.

Changes to this policy

If PayWindow’s data practices change in the future (for example, if optional cloud sync is introduced), this policy will be updated accordingly, and any such feature will be clearly disclosed and will not be required to use the app’s core functionality.
